This is a dual role position that will engage all levels of a SOC (System On Chip) project: system architecture, performance simulation/tuning/analysis, verification, static timing analysis and back end flows.  As part of the AE team at Sonics, you will be responsible for winning new customers in conjunction with the Sonics sales force and local FAEs and provide customer training of Sonics products.  Working closely with Sonics engineering, you will be heavily involved with customers' design in the areas of of application processors, digital multimedia, wireless routers, set top boxes and other high end applications and will need to resolve customer specific issues or feature change requests.  The focus is on providing Sonics solutions to help customers overcome their SOC design challenges.

Experience

5-10 years ASIC design experience at a logic or architecture level for complex SOCs (30+ user cores) or Microprocessors.  Physical design knowledge of deep sub micron SOC is a plus.  Some customer interaction and problem resolution experiences preferred.  Strong ASIC design flow knowledge required; which includes product specification, architecture, logic-design, synthesis, and static timing analysis using industry leading EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor, Magma, etc).

Skills

RTL/Behavioral coding in Verilog/VHDL, SystemVerilog or SystemC.  Programming skills in C/C++, Perl, Tcl or UNIX shell. Ability to architect and resolve system level issues of complex SOCs in terms of performance, power and area. Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential.

Education
BSEE required. MSEE or Ph.D preferred.
